In April 2012 my boyfriend and I spent an amazing week at Secrets Silversands Resort in Riviera Maya and it was the best vacation I have ever had!
I booked the trip through Apple Vacations. The agent I spoke with was incredibly helpful in assisting me with choosing a vacation destination based on the criteria that I gave her as well as our price range.
I told the agent that I was looking for a very relaxing vacation at all all-inclusive, adults-only resort with comfortable rooms, beautiful views and great food. She had just returned from Secrets Silversands and recommended it highly. It did not disappoint.
When we first arrived at the resort we were greeted and offered cool towels for relief from Mexico's intense heat. During the check-in process we were each served a glass of champagne. When check-in was complete we were escorted to one of the resort's many bars where we ordered a drink while we waiting for the luggage attendant to get our bags and show us to our room.
Our room was clean and comfortable with a door that opened onto one of the resorts many swimming pools. It was only a short walk to the main pool where all of the afternoon activities took place and also to the beautiful beach where there were plenty of lounge chairs, hammocks and beach beds to choose from.
As far as dining is concerned, the food at the resort could not be beat! The breakfast buffet was astonishing! It would be nearly impossible for you to not find something that you loved at that buffet! For lunch, we ate at the outdoor restaurant each day so that we could enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful ocean views. For dinner we ate at a different restaurant each night. The resort has several different themed restaurants to choose from including Italian, Mediterranean, Japanese and Mexican. The Italian restaurant was my favorite!
At 5:00 each evening there was live music in the lobby as well as an assortment of appetizers and, of course, since the resort is all-inclusive, drinks were always free.
I would go back to this resort again in a heartbeat! I wish I was there right now!
